Competing Teams
Rules and Waivers
The Men's league will feature 12 teams. Round 1 will be a single round robin format, ( 3 games to 21 ( cap 21)), 1 hr time of play. Teams ranked 1-6 through the first round will move into the A pool, teams ranked 7-12 into the B pool, in which Round 2 will feature round robin play within pools. After round 2 playoffs will begin ( to be posted shortly). Teams will be ranked first by pool (A or B) then by overal wins overall ( both rounds). So teams in B pool will be ranked 7th -12th for playoffs, A pool 1-6th. Teams will start next season in Pools based upon success in this season.
Playoffs are now posted online and will feature 3 Rounds. Round 1 (Dec 2nd) - Teams seeded 5th-12th will play a prelimary playoff match (BEST of 5 to 21), with winners advancing into the Quarterfinals. Teams seeded 1-2 will play a best of three match to determine first seed and teams seeded 3-4 will play a best of 3 to determine 3rd seed. Round 2 (Dec 9th) will have top 8 teams playing Quarterfinal matches (Best of 5 to 21, cap 25) while teams eliminated from quarters will play a seeding match (best of 3) to determine 9th and 11th places. Round 3 (Dec 16th) will see only the top 4 teams advance with both semifinals and finals being played at the main court at Queen's. (Both best of three matches to 25).
The Merchant Tap House Men's League
This league wil feature up to 12 teams and be played on Wednesday Nights from early September until midl December. Games will be played mostly at Queen's or Holy Cross or Ecole from 6pm-10pm, although most games will be scheduled at 8pm or 9pm.
Teams will play 1 or 2 (1hr) matches each evening. Teams will first play a round robin series against all competing teams, and then likely be split into 2 Divs for a second round of play prior to playoffs. Teams should register and pay as soon as possible to reverse their spot in this league, at the latest September 1st. The cost for this league is $525, which assuming 7 players per team is $75/player.
